The LUMINA: Artes Latinae online self-teaching Latin course replaces the DVD or downloadable version of Artes Latinae. If you purchase a DVD of Artes Latinae from a third-party seller, it will not work on Windows 8 or later and OS X Mavericks or later. We no longer sell and do not support the DVD for current operating systems. Artes Latinae is a self-teaching Latin course structured to accommodate multiple levels of students, each learning at his or her own pace in a classroom setting, or during independent study.

Artes Latinae enables you to add Latin to your curriculum without the need for additional staff or expanding facilities. Thousands of students are learning Latin via Artes Latinae, either completely on their own or with minimal help from a facilitator.

Developed by Dr. Waldo E. Sweet of the University of Michigan for Encyclopaedia Britannica Educational Corp., Artes Latinae is an easy-to-follow program that includes all the tools a student needs to achieve a firm command of Latin. The course was carefully crafted and refined to suit the needs and abilities of a broad spectrum of students. Artes Latinae meets existing foreign language requirements for high school graduation.
