William M. Calder III

William M. Calder III is professor emeritus of classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received a BA from Harvard College, an MA from Harvard University, and a PhD from the University of Chicago. Calder is an Alexander von Humboldt Prize Winner and has published numerous articles and books. Calder is coauthor with Bernhard Huss, Marc Mastrangelo, R. Scott Smith, and Stephen M. Trzaskoma of The Unknown Socrates (Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, 2002).
