Richard Upsher Smith, Jr., MDiv and PhD

Richard Upsher Smith, Jr. is a professor of classics at the Franciscan University of Steubenville; he teaches Greek, Latin, and in the Great Books (Honors) Program. Smith received a BA in ancient history and biblical studies from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, a MDiv from Harvard Divinity School, and a PhD in classics from Dalhouise University. Smith served in the Anglican ministry for 20 years. He has published in the fields of classics and medieval studies, and on the Reformation. Smith is the author of A Glossary of Terms in Grammar, Rhetoric, and Prosody for Readers of Greek and Latin: A Vade Mecum (Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, 2011) and Ecclesiastical, Medieval, and Neo-Latin Sentences (Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, 2014).
