Curriculum
This popular Latin program, featuring the latest in scholarship and pedagogy, is designed with both high school and college students in mind. Written by world-renowned Latinists, Milena Minkova and Terence Tunberg, Levels 1 and 2 include a Latin conversation in each chapter and additional aural-oral activities for each chapter in the Teacher's Manuals. Student Textbook: Level 3
LNM Level 3 is designed for all Latin 3 students irrespective of the text they used for Latin 1 and 2. Of course, it works especially well with students who began their Latin studies with LNM. Extensive review materials as well as ample vocabulary and grammar/syntax notes make this text especially student-friendly.
LNM Level 3 builds on the strong foundation of Levels 1 and 2 and provides students an in-depth experience of Caesar, Catullus, Cicero, Horace, Ovid, and Vergil as well as of the Renaissance writer Erasmus. Levels 1 and 2 of Latin for the New Millennium are paired with enrichment texts covering mythology and history. Level 3 features an enrichment set of Latin readings.
The Original Dysfunctional Family: Basic Classical Mythology for the New Millennium for Level 1 presents the key stories of the twelve Olympians as well as those of Ceres and Bacchus. The book also includes a genealogical chart of the Olympian family and their offspring, glossary of Latin and special terms used in text, and illustrations.
From Romulus to Romulus Augustulus: Roman History for the New Millennium for Level 1 provides a comprehensive overview of Roman history from its foundation to Theodoric.
