Level 3 Textbook: Chapter 1 Caesar
The first chapter introduces students to the prose of Caesar’s Dē bellō Gallicō 1.1–6. See how the first reading, in the first six chapters, is designed with special font cues, understood words provided, and key words underlines to ease student’s into the author’s distinct style. An introduction to the author, eight illustrations, and two maps provide a full context for the Caesar selections. The Level 3 Teacher’s Manual in response to input from those using Level 1 and 2 is of comparable page size to the student text and does not replicate the pages of the student text. The Teacher’s Manual contains translations, teaching tips, background notes, teacher by the ways, answers to all the exercises, sample essay responses, scansions, and the like.

A special component is a set of English derivative notes for each reading and the answers to multiple choice quizzes. (Derivative notes and the quizzes for students are available in the Teachers’ Lounge.)
