Richard E. Prior, PhD

Richard E. Prior (1962-2010) was an associate professor of classics at Furman University. Prior received a BA in Latin and teacher certification from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an MA from the University of Maryland, and a PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was fluent in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latin, and Greek and studied several additional languages. Prior coauthored with Joseph Wohlberg 501 Latin Verbs (Barron's Educational Series, 1995) and with Christopher Michael McDonough and Mark Stansbury Servius' Commentary on Book Four of Virgil's Aeneid: An Annotated Translation (Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, 2002); he also authored The Everything Learning Latin Book (Adams Media Corp., 2003), Latin Verb Tenses (McGraw-Hill, 2006), and Latin Demystified (McGraw-Hill, 2008).
